SquiggleDAO marks its fifth anniversary, celebrating a remarkable journey from grassroots beginnings to becoming a significant force in digital art collecting.

The journey began in March 2021 with 231 community-donated Chromie Squiggles and no initial treasury. What started as an organic effort has evolved into a global movement.

Key achievements include:

  • Growing the collection to 330+ Squiggles
  • Securing museum placements and becoming the first DAO to donate artwork to a museum
  • Organizing exhibitions and creating physical art including marble sculptures
  • Hosting events worldwide and building a strong global community
  • Producing research, media content, and merchandise

The DAO received funding from Standard Crypto, True Ventures, The LAO, and angel investors in December 2021, enabling long-term stewardship and ambitious projects.

SquiggleDAO's treasury includes several Squiggles minted directly by creator Snowfro, including the notable Hyper Bold #9139. The organization demonstrates how blockchain technology, art, and community governance can create lasting cultural impact.

Chromie Squiggle Community Discovers Loch Ness Monster Trait

The Chromie Squiggle algorithm reveals another emergent trait that wasn't explicitly programmed: **Loch Ness Monsters**. - Community members discovered these dragon-like formations organically - Notable example: "Nessie," a Hyper Fuzzy owned by @VonMises14 - These traits emerge naturally from the algorithm without intentional design This follows previous community discoveries like the 'N' trait, where Squiggles form the letter N. The ongoing emergence of unexpected patterns demonstrates the depth and complexity built into the original Chromie Squiggle algorithm.
