MimicMimic highlights x402 amid OpenAI guide and new agentic payment integrations

Decentralized finance protocol Mimic shared its read on the emerging x402 standard, which lets AI agents settle payments on their own in stablecoins. The roundup notes that OpenAI published a guide on x402, and that 1inch rolled out x402 payments so agents can pay per call in USDC to access its data, with x402 now sitting alongside subscriptions as a regular payment method.
The thread also highlights Travala's travel MCP, which lets an agent book a real hotel end to end β search, pick a room, and settle in USDC within preset spending limits across more than 2 million listings. Mimic notes x402 runs on plain HTTP: a 402 response returns the amount, asset, chain, recipient, and expiry, which the client checks against its limits before paying.
