Kazuhiro Tanimoto's Rain Blooms Opens in Tokyo Tomorrow
🌧️ Pixels come alive
Rain Blooms, a new work by Kazuhiro Tanimoto, debuts as an immersive physical exhibition at the neort gallery in Tokyo on May 15.
The project explores evolution through pixels operating as living cells, using a cellular automaton system where cells interact, merge, and react to create unpredictable visual and auditory events.
Following the Tokyo exhibition, Tanimoto will release 128 digital works on Art Blocks Studio on May 21.
This marks Tanimoto's return to Art Blocks three years after his curated project Memories of Digital Data, which is now part of the AB500 permanent collection. While that earlier work meditated on data deterioration and loss, Rain Blooms experiments with data as a metaphor for life and evolution.
