First quantum-safe Bitcoin spend mined on Starknet method

StarkWare has mined what it calls the first quantum-safe Bitcoin spend, sending 3.1 BTC with a method described by StarkWare researcher Avihu (avihu28)—a spend no quantum computer could forge under Bitcoin's existing rules.

  • Uses a quantum-safe signature approach built around StarkWare's research, rooted in the hash-based cryptography Starknet itself is built on.
  • Starknet frames the real quantum risk to Bitcoin as paralysis rather than theft—a break would strand large holdings—so QSB (quantum-safe Bitcoin) gives custodians a spend path they can provision now, without waiting on a soft fork or anyone else's timeline.
  • Serves as a proof-of-concept for making Bitcoin transactions resilient to future quantum computing.
