Fantom Launches Canonical Stablecoin USDC.e Powered by Wormhole and Circle
🚀 Bridged Stablecoin Arrives

Fantom has announced the launch of its canonical stablecoin USDC.e, a bridged version of USDC on the Wormhole network. USDC.e is bridged from native USDC on Ethereum and can potentially be upgraded to native USDC by Circle in the future. The initiative aims to reduce liquidity fragmentation, introduce stability, and provide additional on-ramps onto the Fantom ecosystem. Developers can build on USDC.e without needing to change code if it upgrades to native USDC. Users can store, pay, trade, borrow, and lend with USDC.e, which would automatically become native USDC upon an upgrade. Fantom and Circle will provide liquidity for USDC.e on Wormhole, making it accessible for bridging assets to Fantom.
