Circle, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, is launching native USDC on the zkSync Ethereum layer 2 scaling solution. The native USDC will be fully backed by Circle, regulated, and redeemable 1:1 for US dollars. It will replace the existing bridged USDC (to be renamed USDC.e) over time through swaps on decentralized exchanges. Circle has provided official contract addresses for the native USDC and USDC.e tokens on zkSync Era and Sepolia testnets. Developers can integrate native USDC into their dapps following the migration guide.
