Base, the Coinbase-incubated Layer 2 network, has announced significant performance upgrades and fee reductions.

  • Transaction speeds are increasing through network optimizations
  • Gas fees are being reduced further, following previous cost reductions in May 2024
  • The improvements are part of Base's Accelerate initiative

These updates continue Base's commitment to scaling Ethereum while maintaining accessibility and efficiency.

Note: These changes are scheduled to take effect in April 2025

To build a global onchain economy, we need to scale and keep gas fees under 1 cent. The more gas units a chain uses each second, the more transactions it can process. We measure this by the millions: Mgas/s Our target this quarter is 50 Mgas/s — scaling Base 20x since launch.

Aerodrome Introduces Predictive Allocation for Real-Time Liquidity Management

Aerodrome Finance has launched **Predictive Allocation**, a new mechanism that allows stakers to direct liquidity to pools before trading activity begins. **How it works:** - Stakers can allocate resources to pools based on anticipated market demand rather than historical data - Early allocation creates the necessary conditions for trading to occur when market interest arrives - Stakers who correctly predict market movements earn higher rewards This represents a shift from traditional vote-based systems that rely on past performance. Instead, token operators now allocate AERO rewards in real-time as they accrue, rather than through weekly distributions. The feature aims to make liquidity provision more proactive and responsive to market conditions on Base's central liquidity hub.

Aerodrome Shifts to Live Allocation Model for AERO Rewards

Aerodrome Finance is replacing its weekly voting system with a live allocation mechanism for AERO token rewards. **Key Changes:** - sAERO holders will allocate rewards to liquidity pools in real time, rather than through weekly votes - Exchange revenue will flow to stakers as it accrues, eliminating the weekly distribution cycle - Allocations can be adjusted frequently, with rewards and revenue redirecting instantly This shift moves away from retrospective voting toward dynamic, conviction-based allocation. The change aims to make reward distribution more responsive to market conditions and staker preferences.

Aerodrome Launches Predictive Allocation for Real-Time Cross-Chain Rewards

Aerodrome Launches Predictive Allocation for Real-Time Cross-Chain Rewards

Aerodrome Finance has introduced **Predictive Allocation**, a new system for capital allocation and revenue distribution across chains. **Key changes:** - Token operators allocate AERO rewards based on future expectations rather than past performance - Rewards stream to liquidity pools continuously in real-time - Exchange revenue distributes as it accrues, replacing weekly distributions - System operates across multiple chains simultaneously The feature is now live with [Aero](https://aerodrome.finance). This marks a shift from retrospective voting to forward-looking capital deployment in DeFi liquidity management.

cbMEGA Launches on Aerodrome Finance with Live Liquidity Pools

**cbMEGA has officially launched on Aerodrome Finance**, bringing MEGA token utility to the Base network. **Key Details:** - cbMEGA is a 1:1 pegged version of MEGA on Base - Backed and custodied by Coinbase for security - Designed for seamless DeFi compatibility - Liquidity pools are now live with emissions and incentives The integration enables MEGA holders to access new DeFi use cases on Base while maintaining Coinbase's security standards.

Aerodrome Announces Pool Migration Ahead of Aero Upgrade

Aerodrome Finance is conducting pool upgrades this week ahead of its Aero update. **Affected Pools:** - CL200-WETH/AERO - CL100-WETH/EURC Liquidity providers in these pools need to migrate their positions this week to continue earning emissions optimally. This follows last week's migration for CL200-MUSD/MEZO, CL50-MUSD/USDC, and CL200-WETH/RED pools. Migration instructions are available through Aerodrome's official channels.
