Avalanche and AGESIC pilot cross-border digital ID with Blerify
Uruguay's AGESIC is piloting a cross-border digital ID system for Latin America built on Avalanche and LNet, in partnership with Blerify. The project runs as a decentralized trust registry where countries operate their own nodes, with trust metadata stored onchain while personal data stays off-chain, and is positioned as a regional cross-border identity infrastructure for LATAM.
- The initiative has drawn attention from ecosystem figures, including a post from John Nahas noting that digital identity doesn't work if it stops at the border — framing the Uruguay-Blerify work as building cross-border identity on Avalanche.
