Alchemix Partners with Frax for Pool Migration

Alchemix, a pioneer in self-repaying loans, is migrating their alUSD pools from legacy FRAX to frxUSD. This strategic move aims to unlock more sustainable liquidity for the DeFi protocol.

Key Details:

  • Migration involves transitioning alUSD pools to the newer frxUSD infrastructure
  • Partnership builds on long-term collaboration between Frax and Alchemix
  • Move positions both protocols for Alchemix v3 launch

The migration represents another protocol choosing frxUSD as a default stablecoin pairing, continuing a trend of DeFi protocols leveraging frxUSD's PegKeeper pools for productive liquidity.

When @aave wins, DeFi wins. That’s why we’re working with Aave in positive-sum to integrate frxUSD as productive collateral, with underlying yield flowing back to Aave users. At Frax, we believe your distribution should entitle you to your yield. frxUSD makes DeFi stronger.

How ideas evolve in DeFi: frxUSD in AAVE is the best example. A few days ago, we discussed about earning extra yield on stablecoins that sit idle inside @aave. The new proposal to bring frxUSD to the platform is a very good idea. It is great to see @fraxfinance focusing on

The third giant in the stablecoin market. The stablecoin sector is over $300B, but USDT and USDC control 85% of it. They capture massive yields and share nothing with users. Frax is positioning frxUSD to break this duopoly by offering a better unit economic model for everyone.

Wherever institutions go on-chain, you can expect frxUSD to be there too. @CantonNetwork is seeing institutional adoption because they addressed pain points by building a privacy-first chain. We’re proud to be a Canton validator and you can expect a strong frxUSD presence soon.

Sean Kelley says Canton is one of Frax's biggest ecosystem bets. The reason? "Their partnership lineup is insane. Every single major bank is signing on." He explains they built "from a customer-first standpoint", talking to institutions first, then building what they need.

The routing war is about becoming default liquidity. Our vision for frxUSD is to become one of a handful of default stablecoins widely accepted across DeFi and real-world payments. We get there by being positive-sum: making frxUSD the most valuable stablecoin to partner with.

The Routing War Most stablecoin discourse is about supply, TVL, and market cap. These matter. But they are not the whole picture. There is a deeper competition happening underneath all of that. And it rarely gets talked about directly. The competition is to become a routing
